Aromatherapy involves the use of essential oils that release tiny molecules into the air. When inhaled, aromatherapy stimulates your nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves). This chain reaction creates signals to your brain and chemical responses throughout your body to help relaxation and reduce stress, pain and tension.
A scalp massage is designed to relax the mind and encourage circulation. Many times, tension is felt within the head and neck, so this massage can be very effective as a stress reducer. Warm oil is often massaged throughout the scalp, working to relax tight muscles in the temple and neck regions.
Stone massages also ease muscle pain and tension, reducing inflammation and relaxing muscles, through a combination of heat and movement of the stones to promote deeper tissues to release and relax. Anyone who is experiencing muscle tension and pain, insomnia, or stress may benefit from a hot stone massage.
Traditional Thai Herbal Compress Therapy, ‘Luk Pra Kob’ (ลูกประคบ) involves using a compress made of a blend of therapeutic herbs, including ginger, turmeric, kaffir lime, camphor, castor oil, tamarind, and lemongrass. When heated, the herbal essences penetrate the skin, promoting deep muscular relaxation and a holistic detoxification treating muscle pain and joint stiffness.
Reflexology is a type of therapy that uses gentle pressure on specific points along your feet, hands and ears to help reduce the effects of stress. It’s also known as zone therapy. Reflexology is not a diagnostic tool, but is practiced in many cultures and thought to help you maintain the flow of vital energy through your body and connect points of tension along meridians and organ systems of the body.
Dry brushing involves gently massaging the body with a natural bristle brush to help exfoliate the skin, stimulate the lymphatic system, and increase circulation. When used in massage sessions, this benefits the skin by helping exfoliate the skin, while increasing superficial blood and subsequent lymphatic fluid flow, it can enhance the absorption of nourishing oils used in your session.
